Drew's TYO Experience
"I will never forget my time in TSYO (as it used to be called) with Dr. J. It was incredibly exciting to come in every week and play orchestra music, music by the greatest composers ever! The amazingly lush string sounds were so refreshing to me after years of band. Dr. J was essential to my choice of a career in music - it was such an honor to work with a musician of his calibre every single week. He truly inspired us to play our best and be the best musicians we could be. We will be forever indebted to him. In my first few years of high school at Rickards, the youth orchestra was the place where I could stay in touch with the best musicians in Tallahassee like my good friend Ross Holcombe. I also had a fantastic time playing in various woodwind quintets with Johanna Yarbrough and Ian Copland - learning to get along with others was invaluable at such a young age." -Drew Pattison
