Gabriela Fogo, TYO Violin Coach

​

Gabriela Fogo was born in Brazil where she began music studies at age ten through the Metodo Jaffe. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in violin from Faculdade Cantareira, Sao Paulo, and holds a master’s degree in string pedagogy and violin performance from The University of New Mexico. She was a member of various orchestras and chamber groups in Brazil and served as concertmaster of the UNM Symphony Orchestra and violinist in the Abe Franck graduate string quartet. She was also a member of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and principal second violin of the New Mexico Philharmonic orchestra. Besides that, she really enjoys teaching and has maintained a regular studio in the past years where she teaches traditional and Suzuki lessons.
In 2019, she went on tour with the Orchestra of the Americas representing Brazil. She is a currently pursuing her doctorate degree in violin performance at FSU where she plays as the concertmaster of the University Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Burgin graduate string quartet. She is also a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras in the area.
